Battery and Cell Phone
Recycling Program
The Township office is
now a depot for the Call2Recycle Program operated as a non-profit
public service at no cost to the user or the municipality. Stop
by the office Monday to Friday, 8:30 - 4:00 to drop off your
rechargeable batteries or cell phones. For additional information
please link to the Call2 Recycle website at http://www.rbrc.org/call2recycle/community/comm_faq.html. Thank you for doing your part to
divert this material from our landfill.

RECYCLING
SCHEDULE
Mackey
& Stonecliffe Residents Collection
will
take place every
second Monday beginning February 12, 2007.
If a normal collection day falls on a holiday Monday, collection will
be on the
next business day, normally a Tuesday. The 2009 collection
day schedule is as below. Tuesdays are in bold.

SPRING CLEAN UP
Once again our
recyclers will provide a special spring recyclables pick up to be held
on Tuesday, May 20 and Monday, June 2. Please have your materials
placed at the road-side by 9:00 a.m. This collection will include
large, bulky recyclable materials that are not merely garbage.
Our disposal sites are available for 1 hour each day for your
use. Please bring your large garbage items to the disposal sites.
Recyclable items include things that might be recycled, reused or
refurbished for resale such as: white goods - refrigerators, washers,
dryers, stoves, dishwashers, freezers; scrap metal - Barbeques, lawn
furniture; bags of old clothing/bedding; furniture - couches, chairs,
tables; electronics - tvs, computers, printers, vcrs, stereos; or other
such large items. As these
days are normal collection days, your bags of regular
recycling should be placed out as well. Should it be raining on these
collection days, please place those items
that might be destroyed by the elements under plastic or perhaps leave
them for the next collection day. A couch or chair that has been
soaked through with rain would now be garbage.

Bissett
Creek and Deux Rivieres Residents
Collection will be on Tuesdays along
with your regular garbage - simply put your materials out in clear
(transparent) plastic bags for collection on your regular garbage
collection days.
For additional
information contact the Township Office 613-586-2526 or our Recycler at
613-586-1994.

Recycling in Head, Clara & Maria
Thank you for
your interest
in our Municipal Recycling Program. In February of 2007, our
municipality contracted with a small firm to collect recyclables.
Our contractors request that all materials be cleaned and placed in
clear (transparent) plastic bags for collection. This prevents
materials from absorbing water from rain or snow and making them more
difficult to collect and process.
There are a few
simple
rules to ensure that the materials collected end
up recycled and not in our landfill. All containers and material
must be clean. Containers must be rinsed so that no food
particles remain in or on the container or bag. It is not
necessary to remove outside paper from cans however; it is advisable to
push the lids down inside the cans to prevent injuries during
handling. Please separate paper products from those that have
been washed to prevent damage and contamination. Unclean and
damaged (wet) material will end up in our landfill. Please do
your part to keep our Township green.
Cottagers - please
make your best efforts to join in our program. Depending on where
you live, you may be able to place your recyclables out along with full
time residents at designated locations. Alternately, you may
place
them in bins located beside the Township garage in Stonecliffe or at
the Stonecliffe Disposal Site.
For more information call the Township Office.
Local Business
Operators -
Currently, we have bins located beside the Township garage and at the
Stonecliffe Waste Disposal Site for the collection of recyclable
materials. All material must be prepared as for household
collection i.e. cleaned and bagged (aside from cardboard boxes which
may be tied in manageable bundles). The bin beside the Township
garage is availalbe for use at all times - that within the disposal
site at Stonecliffe, during normal operating hours.
We are considering a
receptacle for the use of Deux Rivieres residents to be located, likely
at the Bissett Creek landfill site. Until that time, you are
welcome to use the other two bins. We are considering other
options.
